There appear to be many different versions of the RBS.msi floating around. They are all oddly named and described. eg. The current one described on technet is called RBS_amd64.msi (
)... it doesn't appear to have any relation to amd, but is the only one that appears to work on a Win2012/SP2013 setup. it appears that the one referred to in the SP2010 article does now point to
the correct .msi, but for a long time it was directed at the incorrect version.
Does anyone have a hint of which versions should be used in which case?
Even assuming the above two .msi are correct, it still leaves us with the problem that the install parameters don't appear to be correct:
msiexec /qn /lvx* rbs_install_log.txt /i RBS-x64.msi TRUSTSERVERCERTIFICATE=true FILEGROUP=PRIMARY DBNAME="WSS_Content" DBINSTANCE="DBInstanceName" FILESTREAMFILEGROUP=RBSFilestreamProvider FILESTREAMSTORENAME=FilestreamProvider_1
At the least the msi name is incorrect as it should, presumably, be RBS_amd64.msi. Is filestream really relevant when installing a 3rd part provider? But, it also doesn't appear to work - the install of filestream fails, along with a generic failure message
at the end of the file.
